    Yes-yes-yes! [/Loreal advert]

I'd certainly be interested in a society. I cycle almost every day because I get bored walking, and it's nice to get some exercise that takes you quickly away from the people who would otherwise snigger at your attempts at being active

Could I suggest we use the first post as a reference point for relevant posts giving advice on specific questions - i.e. have specific categories, and links to good posts?

    a) Its not that bad, if you find some fairly quiet roads to ride on. And people are becoming more aware of the need to give cyclists more room.

    b) Hills? I'd kill for some bloody hills to climb! I live in chuffing Lincolnshire, its like Holland

    I'd be interested!
Used to bike most days to school which is just under 9 miles away. Now I just enjoy bike rides on my own, with friends, whatever

Used to have an old town bike given from my grandad until the metal mudguard somehow managed to fold backwards on itself and jam in the wheel whilst riding it lololol.
Now I have a brand spanking new one.

Toughest? Ha, roadies will cycle for hours on end, have a crash, get injured, get back on the bike and then sprint all out for a kilometer to win the race. :p:

We can have everyone.. Mountain bikers, racers, commuters. whhooo

Ally.. look on your local distric council's website.. they should have a bit for cyclists and if you're lucky you'll be able to download maps showing you where all the cycle paths are. Its great where I am.. i can go to the city and back, town and back.. sainsburys, without leaving a designated cycle path.

you mean from different threads or posts within the society thread? Either way, yes, good idea.
I meant from within the thread, but it would work either way.

A roadie wouldn't stand a chance on a real trail, or DH track, yet a MTBer could easily ride along a bit of road :p:

I'll join if MTBers are welcome :p:

Theres loads here at amazon, it depends what kind of book you're looking for, like road bikes or mountain bikes for example.
Its becoming more common for bike shops to offer maintenance classes instore aswell.
