Indeed! It's only because you do sometimes ask the most daft questions, though. If you (a) use the Search function, (b) read and believe the prospectuses and (c) exercise a little common sense, you'd actually be able to answer most of them yourself.
That's why I get a bit arsey. Though I do also try to answer your questions, too. :p:

to be truthful, I dont think this question has beens asked and I dont really want to apply for a History course at oxford or cambridge if they do not offer a course that matches the topics in other universities- although be it ox and cam are better universities than the others I have been looking at!

Well, the question proabbly hasn't been asked because it's a bit of a silly one! But never mind.

To be a bit more useful...
I assume you've looked at all the info available on- and offline? Here are a few things just in case:

The Cambridge History admissions page (with details of all the available papers, and how the options work): http://www.hist.cam.ac.uk/ugadmissions/index.html

And the equivalent for Oxford: http://www.history.ox.ac.uk/prosundergrad/courses/modhist.htm

If you read these carefully, most of your questions about the courses will be answered.

Never mind, dear. Just read the info in those two links -- I assure you that's all the course bumph you need to know (and pretty much all you can possibly find out before actually doing the courses, because it all gets bogged down in essentially irrelevant details after this point).

*sighs*

Ho hum.

Ferrets...

It's a silly question because a) you could easily have found the answer by having a quick look at the faculty websites, the most obvious places to look for this sort of information, and b) common sense should have told you that it'll probably be quite hard to find a history course which doesn't allow you to study the world wars at some point (unless it's a specialised course).

Well, did you really expect the answer to be 'no'?
