it is the belief that all that exists is minds and their ideas. Berkeley claimed that we are all ideas from God's mind. So to an idealist, there is no body, or indeed, no matter, only the mind...

Of course, Idealism can also refer to Kant's position...which is a lot more comlicated. But basically, Idealism conflates the difference between appearance and reality by a verificationism about perception.
