when i type the letters in front get deleted

hey
does anyone know how to change the setting where when you type in the middle of text the letters in front get deleted? because ive just accidently turned that on on my laptop and i cant figure out how to get rid of it.

press the "insert" button on your keyboard if you are using a pc (dont know fot mac) its above delete.

Or if it's in word you can go into the settings (on one of the menus there is 'options') go to the edit part and unclick overtype mode. If that makes any sense?!

Its much quicker just to clivk insert though

if your using 2003, i guess you are, theres a box down the bottom with OVR in it whichll tell you if its on or not.

i hated when that happened back in the day and i could never figure out how to fix it.. had to rewrite a whole essay cos of it lol
