We British are a bunch of moaners, and what better to moan about than the really important things in life – fashion and beauty!
This thread is for me (and you) to rant and moan about those little things in life than hinder us from being the glamorous goddesses that we are.
Can’t find your size in “that” Top Shop dress? Chipped a nail? Snapped the heal on your favourite pair? Broke out in spots? Unhelpful shop assistant? Pop in here whenever you need a good moan, get it off your chest.
I’ll begin...
Ever sneezed or flinched whilst you were putting on your mascara? Such a BITCH isn’t it? It basically heralds having to start all over again. And even if you manage to get through the whole mascara application process without problems, you then accidently open your eyes too wide – producing an imprint of mascara on your eyebrow! Bastard. And the print is right over your freshly applied eye shadow. Double bastard.
Ever laddered your tights JUST as you were leaving your house?
Ever chipped some red (or other sever colour) nail varnish whilst you’re out, and having to spend the entire remainder of the day gnawing at the rest of your nails in order to remove the existing varnish so they match up? Then feeling sick.
Ever left your house in the comfiest shoes EVER (Or so you thought) And an hour later when you’re in town realising that those heels now feel like cheese graters on your feet?
I can never put mascara on without in some way smudging it
those spots on my chin will NEVER go
Im fed up of seeing porn stars, glamour models, celebrities and members of the public wearing the wrong size bra...i can tell girls, and it makes me want too grab them and get them in a proper bra, no one wants too see bra straps hanging around and double boobs!!!!!!
I hate how im a red head, and i want to go blonde..yet can't, just a lighter shade of red..ginger
I hate how i dyed my hair a dark red, and my roots are ginger, yet my ends are deep red and have been like that for 4 years
My hair grows too one length and stays at that length
That i have too buy tops 5 sizes bigger just too fit around my boobs
I can never afford to go on a proper shopping trip
That there are still evil people out there that use animals for cosmetic testing and fashion
Im still annoyed a woman from clinique advised me too use anti-wrinkle cream....im 18..
Doves summer moisturising lotion makes the inbeetween of my fingers orange
There is never enough time too apply makeup properly
That models look so good in clothes, yet when i try them on..i look like a fat pig
I HATE it when they don't have my size in something I really want
I hate it that my hair straight/flat = boring, would a wave or a curl be too much to ask?
The weather!? Do I wear a summer dress/bare legs and risk it raining? Or do I just wear jeans because its England it WILL rain..what ever I dress like the opposite weather will happen, gah!
Dove summer moisturiser that stains my fingernails.. that's rant-worthy
I'm naturally blonde, but dark hair suits me so much better. so i have to dye it every 3 weeks to stop it looking like my hair line's receding. Why couldn't i just have been born with the right hair colour?
I hate how i can never find any vaguely stylish walking trousers. Or waterproof.
Oh and that i'm always between sizes, but refuse to be a size 14 in anything (my own issues, long story, i have nothing against other women who are 14+),thus instantly halving any potential wardrobe
I hate how the so called universal sizes vary from one store a 6 in miss selfridge and a 10 in topshop - what?!
I also HATE how I can't dress up all the time because of where I live, and no I'm not talking crazy banana suits, I mean heels, dresses, skirts; think SATC. Oh the annoyance.
Can I just quickly point out that the aim of the thread was obviously to rant about also offer advice, hints & tips etc. Like I explained to Tufts, if the thread becomes too conversational/chatty, it'll have to be moved to chat,so if people could rant and offer advice as well, it can be kept in this forum
as you were
ps: i soo agree with most of the stuff that's been said so far.
I HATE that my hair will NEVER straighten nicely! arghh, i also hate that my hair is a crappy dull brown colour, but I don't have the dosh to dye it
hmmm.. I also hate topshop clones you see that ALL look exaaaactly the same. I don't know why it gets on my nerves its just like, get your own frigging style man!
... I also hate how long it takes my fake tan to dry, and how it keeps rubbing off on my duvet!
loads more but i'm too tired to think haha, to be continued...
I can never put mascara on without in some way smudging it
Ditto. What's a girl to do?

Try steaming your face over a bowl of water then blasting them with PRESCRIPTION cream. Burn baby burn.

I can only get my size trousers in a 34" inside leg length in one shop, Topshop, or in the right size but too loose - go figure at MK One...
I did hate that I could never find a swimming costume that wasn't so high-hipped that the leg holes came up to my arm pits, but I've find one that's very good now
Oh, also, the only time I got measured, they said I was a 34C and the bra that I bought from there I fall out of, yet in every other single store on the face of the planet I'm a 32B...
