IB holidays???

OK well I'll be starting the IB this August and the Christmas break starts on the 19th-5th of january and I just found out that my granddad has blood cancer :frown:

so we wanted to spend probably his last Christmas with him anyway We need to leave on the 15th of december and we won't be back until the 7th of January (I'd miss about 7/8 days of school) Do you think they'd let be take the holiday?

course they will its not a huge drama if you miss a week of school and i presume you're going to have christmas holidays during that time anyway

I hope he'll be okay.

And yeah, just make sure you tell your school in advance and get it completely cleared. Perhaps they can give you work to do to cover the time you missed, which shouldn't be that much.

although its a serious program, its not THAT serious

i'd say you can miss up to 3 weeks or so, of course it all depends on what marks you'll get on your 2009 Exam subjects. if you think you can manage 7, take the rest of the year off. :rolleyes:
