hi im crashing higher modern studies this year does anyone have any hints or tips... please note i have never done a social subject before... no history or geography ive been told that if your good with english you should be fine.
My school didn't do SG modern studies so everyone was crashing it, although no one considered it to be a crash subject. To do it we needed to have passed Higher English, possibly because it was quite essay-based.
i might have do that aswell cause our school has chemisry in two columns but they are only offering advanced higher in one of the columns n if its the column that modern studies is in then buh bye higher modies lol
AH maths, applied maths, music, physics and chemistry.
Music clashes so i have to that myself and applied maths isn't timetabled so i know what you mean about things not being ideal.
Ohh smartie pants! I wish I had tried harder to be honest. I actually love English in third year I was a tit though and didn't bother at all and when it got to the 4th year prelim for intermediate 2 i failed by 1 PERCENT! *gasps* and my teacher made me move down to intermediate 1 after that

That's the brilliant thing about standard grade, you can do **** in the prelim and they still have to let you sit two of them so it can be general and credit
I way prefered that course aswell, i *hate* critical essays
But int 2 is more like higher so it's probably better in that way

It's annoying though I don't mean to sound like an arse though because I know that I'm better at English than some of the people who did it this year! Grr. Like some of my friends failed the int 2 nabs, I didn't fail any, yet they were still allowed to resit and do the exam because they got like 2 percent more than me in the prelim. Sorry, I'm still bitter.
I had to pick Higher RMPS aswell, because of the clashes don't know what I think about that yet and higher psychology... you're expected to have higher english if you do it though, er oops.

You might enjoy those two if you like english, and i wouldn't worry about not having English for psychology, history will probably help you as much
Yeah it sucks they made you do Int 1 Probably about half the people in my year failed English higher prelims but not all of them have been forced to do int2 (although i'm not sure how many of them are gonna pass...)

Yeppppp. I hope some people fail. That sounds really mean but oh well
i'm doing that, but i feel a wee bit put off cos my teacher said to us there's a high level of english needed and he expects most us to have passed intermediate 2 english, i haven't, lol, so, dunno...x
well it is essays but its mostly discursive essays plus they have a 35 mark paper 2 which is all from sources the first paper is 60 marks of remembering things (4 15 mark discursive essays) the second paper is made up of 10 marks of evaluatingf sources and a 25 mark dme exercise which looks kinda fun lol im looking forward to exam results day my parents are away so im having a mega party
