I'm starting 6th form in September and I haven't completely decided which subjects to do. I know I am definitely doing:

AS Chemistry
AS Biology
AS&A2 Maths
AS&A2 Spanish

But I'd also like do AS Physics. Would this be too much? If it makes any difference, I'm already fluent in Spanish (not my native language) so that'll be quite easy. I have also finished Maths C1, C2, M1 and S1 this summer (of course I still need to revise them often but I undestand the topics and can do all the questions).

Do you think 3 AS-levels and 2 full A-levels would be too much to handle?

I think you will have a hefty work load as it is... I wouldn't take on physics; do it next year instead.

AS levels aren't worth that much though, I'd only do one at most.

why do you need AS physics?
if you get 2As in your maths and spanish,
you only need an A in either chemistry or biology in the following year for the best unis and best courses!

I'd take it, jkyng doesnt have much logic, if you go up a candidate with the same grades/subjects, then your physics AS could be the tipping of the scales. You already have maths and spanish under control, go for it!

I want to do Physics because I'm very interested in it, and I want to keep the doors open for studying any science at university. Oh, and to the person who said ASs aren't worth much - I'd be doing A2 Biology, Chemistry and Physics in year 13. Thanks for all the replies! Anyone else have any input?

The timetable is not a problem, these subjects are all in different blocks - if I wanted I could take another AS on top of Physics!
Mainly my concern is whether I will have enough time to dedicate to each subject outside of school - 5 ASs and 2 A2s, in theory..

Spread it out more evenly? Did you say you are already taking A2 maths earlier?

Even if you choose to do the Physics in Year 1, still do-able!

if ur organised n can stay on top of it go for it
i did an A level in a year last year n it was a coursework one it was hard at times just got so fed up of the same teachers allllll the time.... n the same work... i felt i was ALWAYS in that subject it became a chore
but if u wanna do it n think u can keep it fresh go for it
