Re: Get Gordon Out marchmaybe you don't understand the very basics of politics. Political theorists today constantly refer the role of the PM becoming more and more like that of a President and the elections are now depicted by the all types of media as simply a choice between one leader or the other, in this case, soon it will be Brown or Cameron.(Original post by The Solitary Reaper)
Repeat after me:
Ours is not a presidential system. Ours is not a presidential system. Ours is not a presidential system.
Perhaps you're just surrounded by people who don't understand the very basics of politics in this country (who also seem to form the most vocal part of the electorate)? -
Re: Get Gordon Out marchI doubt Brown would even stand for re-election.(Original post by kevster)

Re: Get Gordon Out marchExpect themselves. I don't think they have proved they're capable of running the country. They avoid talking about what they'd do differently to the government, and are the 'opposition' not an 'alternative'. As Dave brought the conservatives closer to the centre ground during his early days as party leader his thinking was more like; "We can't win elections relying on the conservative vote, so let's become New Tory and try and win support from disillusioned Labour voters." Now they have to decide, as a party, who they really are; something that will only be revealed through manifestos and policies.(Original post by kevster)
who knows, who cares. What we do know is that we are all going to have to get used to Mr Cameron on our tv's very quickly, nobody is stopping the torys.
