I've got a feeling that includes private grammar schools, I'd be very surprised if it stooped that low. I certainly remember it being top 5 within the last few years for sixth form, I know that's its strong point. A full set of 1s from ofsted for the sixth form. Lower school seems to be on the decrease though (?). Also we're top 20 for Oxbridge placements I believe. I guess we'll just have to wait until my year leave yr13 to see us rocket up the tables

Where are you getting your figures from?
Well this is the one where it came 3rd: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/display...113844,00.html
    I know its 2006 but I couldn't find the one for 2007

Then this is the one where we came (allegedly) 59th:
    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/parentp...on=DESC&page=1

(Click on A-level rank and it rearranges them just in that order. And they are all state schools..).

    Then there's this: http://www.timesexamresults.co.uk/re...evel.php?i=150

The Telegraph have A-level league tables as well but they kinda don't work...

    Basically,
This is just confusing. Especially as its the same website. Only the 1st onemeasured by UCAS points, the 2nd by %A/B and the 3rd by % of As and UCAS points.
    >_<
Anyway, I don't think remarks changed it so much that it moved down 55 places..
So the criteria must make the results that different..?

I think this criteria is a better judge than this one:

Then this is the one where we came (allegedly) 59th:
    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/parentp...=DESC&pa ge=1
Which is just As and Bs, what can be taken from that I don't know (apart from the obvious they get a greater percentage of As and Bs than Borlase).

It's very confusing, but considering our 6th form is a lot bigger than the others', I think it does very well. It's harder to get good figures for a year with 170 in than to get good figures for a year with 90 in. I certainly reckon it can be considered one of the best 6th forms in the country.

My school used to be a grammar school in the 70s but it's a comprehensive at the moment.

Kinda explains why it's crap. :indiff:

Eton is definitely not a grammar school.

The Tiffin Girls' School, Kingston Upon Thames
Colchester County High School for Girls, Colchester
    Colyton Grammar School, Colyton
    Reading School, Reading
    The Henrietta Barnett School, London
    The Latymer School, London
King Edward VI Grammar School, Chelmsford
King Edward VI Camp Hill for Boys, Birmingham
    Lancaster Girls' Grammar School, Lancaster
    Pate's Grammar School, Cheltenham

:banana2: I go to the girls school equivalent of Reading Boys School, Kendrick Girls School, (weirdly enough, Reading School actually used to be called Kendrick Boys School, they're very linked) and most of my guy friends go there. Feel kinda proud that Reading is up there on the list

But I absolutely love my school, the teachers are crazy

Yaaay. Can't wait until induction day but I am scared at the same time. I don't know anyone else going there, sorry. It's great to know someone else going there I'll give you my name also closer to the day. Can't wait to see you on induction day Can't believe that I'll soon be starting 6th form, time just flies by....

Look forward to seeing you there then! I can't wait either, it's gonna be hard work but so much fun at the same time!

Did you get replies from anywhere else? I got into St Doms and Henrietta Barnett but that's a bit of a trek for me, lol. Watford is much closer.

PS: Anyone who goes to Watford Grammar Girls (or even Boys), could you give me some insight as to what compulsory sports there are for PE? Like for sixth form?

    Thanks!!
