Hi,

I was speakin to my mum about results day and she heard apparently from a person who knows an examiner of aqa exam board that some unis put their succesful/unsuccesful replies on ucas track at about midnight the night before results day so on the 13th.

Anybody heard this before?

Technically on the midnight between 13th/14th.
But the UCAS website will have too much traffic so it'll be down, probably won't be able to see until about 3am or later than that.

I do remember that on my results day, I got a letter from UCAS saying I had got into my first choice uni in the post on the morning, before I had my results.

well i wouldn't know much about it, but its possible ....you could try checking your ucas account at midnight the night before results day so on the 13th?

I woke up on my results day, to a letter confirming my accommodation offer from uni. Which I (correctly) took to mean that I was in!

I tried this with my A level results 2 years ago.. didn't work. Went to the pub the night before, got back at like, 1am, checked ucas, and either UCAS track was down, or it hadn't been updated, one of the two. By all means, try it, but it might not work

it's true, but there's so much site traffic that you wont realistically see if you're in until 6-7am...

Yeah, but looking via ucas isn't the fun way to do it, is it?

yep, true apparently...I have a friend who's convinced she's staying up and checking every hour up until she goes into school to get her results.
I, on the other hand, am happy to stay blissfully unaware for as long as I possibly can!!

Yuhhhhh, some of my friends did it last year. Well, tried. One successfully seen whether they got in or not. The rest couldnt get on the site. Shrug.

Depends what Im doing that night as to whether I'll sit at home trying to get on. Harumphhh.

Maybe. Last year though UCAS didn't let people log in until about 7am (I think it said it was being updated/was just down etc) and even then some universities had not updated their offers etc.

This probably is the case, as Universities get to see your grades 3-4 days before you do.

I want to open the envelope though! God, the next 4 weeks can't go quickly enough.

Not true.

They do put them on UCAS track, but then UCAS track goes down until about 7-8am. (Not because of 'heavy traffic' they just take it down completely).

Trust me on this one, I did the same last year - stayed up ALL night after the rumours.

I had my offer confirmed by 7am ish on results day on track.

It has happened two years ago at 12:00 midnight, but it was a glitch in the system. I doubt it will happen again this year.

lots of mixed opinions i reckon il be out the night before so when i get in at likle 2 il check it once. Im nervous just bloody thinkin about it!
