When we had a talk about it, apparently the highest for the previous year was £30K!

Funily enough they didn't tell us where that was though..

its funny u say that because when i went to the open day for kent one of the students was saying how he has just got a placement for the YINI for 30k a year

so i thought hmmmm i dont believe that, and i started looking - and as such i still cant find a job thats offers that kind of cash, 22k best i can find

i think the unis lie bout this sort of stuff to make people join the year in industry courses

18k is about right tbh.

If you decide to go ahead, you wanna choose somewhere that's actually going to involve you with stuff. I work in a fairly small company and we have a placement student every year and they always work on small projects. You need to be careful that you don't become a dogsbody doing the filing.

Ive heard of a placement for 30K and they wouldn't tell us where it was lol you just had to hope you applied for the right one.

18K is very good, usually they are 12-15K.

ive been scouring the YinI website to see whats on offer for after this year, when ill be doing it and they all seem to be 18k or below, im not disputing that someone managed to get 30k but it's not gonna happen again - at least not any time soon.

The most important thing is that you are gaining the best experience, not getting paid stacks - thats the purpose of the scheme

Apparently only 1/3rd of Psych placements are paid.

I don't understand how anyone can expect a student to work for free for an entire year? Crazy.
