Re: The Liverpool F.C. Society III
El Zhar looked quite good to me. He jsut doesnt have the battleing mentality or physical presence to cause a great deal of worry to defenders. He got into good positions, like Kuyt, but had minimal skill to get out of them. Aside the penalty cry, which he was lucky to get into in the first place he was in the right place but wrong man.
One up side, like somone else said, is that we are playing ugly and still winning. Only problem is, that look at the teams we have struggled against. All teams that should be bread and butter. Hope it steps up for this weekend, and i wouldnt be surprised if Riera comes in, if he plays on saturday. Gerrard might get a rest cause he has played a fair amount recently and still isnt his usual best. Torres was okay, but he could only work with what he was given.
Keane once again showed no sign that he was worth anything close to 19million. -
Re: The Liverpool F.C. Society IIII think he put in a good shift today... seemed to win a fair few more 50/50 challenges than most of our players tonight, he seemed to actually want to win the ball(Original post by chooka)

Re: The Liverpool F.C. Society III
You cannot count any CL game (even qualifiers) as a simple walkover. I didn't see the match, but from what I've heard, Liege played very well over the two legs. The main thing is getting through. Losing the CL football and the revenue it brings would've been close to disastrous.
Congrats, but these late goals are pissing me off. That's what Arsenal are meant to be doing.

Re: The Liverpool F.C. Society III
To be honest gerrard wasnt at his best tonight and with only one match in the new couple of weeks for liverpool i think now is the best time for us to take him out of the front line.
Alonso and masch will start on saturday and that is still a good pairing that we have got there. Hopefully Alonso has his passing boots or shooting boots on.
Humm, should we of been looking at maybe SWP this transfer window? looks like he is leaving chelsea, and he would certainly give us the edge. Even though he is another right footer.Last edited by chooka; 28-08-2008 at 00:19. -
