I've got a room left in a shared house.

just wondering where to advertise the room online, free ones would be nice. which sites have you guys used

Or there's always accommodationforstudents.com

There's quite a few others but they charge.

If you don't find anything online, it might be worthwhile getting an email sent to student notices at the Uni, and they'll mass forward an email to all students. Might enable you get that place sorted quicker too.
Put an advert in your uni's student publication (such as a student magazine etc), put up notices all around the campus, email your uni friends to ask if they want a room, ask your lecturer to tell students of a room, put a notice in the uni library, ask newcomers in fresher's week etc.

The house is in Almondbury.

I used accom...4students (thanks for the sugestion) and also got some response from my facebook ad which was quite cool.
