Default if i was to take a health science degree with the OU

if i was to take a health science degree with the OU, would they allow me to do 120 credits per year, cos i wanna do a degree which takes 3 years and not 6 years.

and im not sure exactly "what" the 120 credits would consist of. will there be modules, or what?

im new to the OU so just wondering,

regards

Hi, yes you can do it in 3 years thats what Im doing, its hell of a lot of work though, more than a full time brick uni imo. You don't get any lectures so have to really put the effort in. I thought the health science degree didn't exist any more anyway. I know there is an health science diploma.

yeh u can do 120 points in a year, i'm doing 100 with a full time job from September.

360 points make up a degree with honours, u get to choose which modules u want to take but some u have to.

a 60 point course which I took last year for a year was pretty hard going actually.

Degrees

* BA/BSc Open degree
The BA/BSc Open Degree provides a flexible way to combine a range of courses from different subjects either to suit your particular career or personal interests, or to complete studies you have started elsewhere.

hm I see what you are saying but I think you would still be awarded the 'BSC open degree' because they have cancelled a module which is required for the Health sciences degree, your better checking up.

It would say open degree unless you choose to count your modules to a named degree like Bsc health and social care, but Im sure they have stopped doing health sciences as a degree. Double check though.

They do BSc Health Studies or Health and Social Care, but no Health Sciences.

ok thnx, so if i keep the bsc open degree title then, den considering i was going to tailor it, wud the degree content b similar to the original bsc health sciences one? or perhaps in other words, cud i pik most of the modules that originally came from the health sciences one to make up the bsc open degree...or is that not an option now too?
regards
