Default Is the UCAS update automated?

Hi all,

My question is to do with the way UCAS updates on the 14th - I'm fairly sure I won't meet my 3 A offer, but does that automatically mean UCAS will say that I am rejected from my Uni?

Or does the Uni look at the results on the 13th (or whatever,) then decide, so that even though I dont make the offer, Track will still be updated on the day?

I ask as alot of unis may not fill all the spaces, so will obviously look to those who didnt make the offer etc - do they do this before or after the 14th?

Thanks in advance!

There is nothing automated about results decisions - someone somewhere has to sit down with a list of your results, your UCAS form and your offer and make a decision one way or the other.

Yes basically, the admissions tutors from your Uni department will look at the results on the Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.
- If you make your offer its simple, you're in and the Uni accepts you.
- If you miss your offer your file will be looked at and they will consider whether or not there is space for you.
- A actual person or group of people will decide your fate as the UCAS system does not automatically update itself.

On the wednesday, the Unis inform UCAS of whos got Unconditional offers, who hasnt got in and who they are unsure about.
You will be able to find this out when the Track system updates on Thursday midmorning.

PQ's thread is amazingly helpful though, and definitely worth a thorough read!
