What are the other A-level subjects and what do you hope to do at university?

Maths (B) economics (A) and ICT (A)

Im hoping to do either a course linked with economics or something like "Police & Criminal Investigation" not too sure
You should drop it if you find it hard and boring, especially if you definitely want to do your other 3 subjects. You only need 3 anyway, no unis ask for 4.

Drop it then. It's your only art/humanities subject so it would be good for variety. It's also a very traditional and respected subject. That shouldn't really matter too much as you have maths and economics (which are, of course, solid and very important for economics). ICT is a slightly weak link but, for where you are going, it'll cause no major problems.

You may found four too much and, if it's the only one you don't like, then drop it. I'd try and pesevere with history and drop ICT. Then again, I'm not you.

i have just got my as results and got AABB
I was expecting a D in history, and was 90% sure that i was going to drop it, to make sure that i would get good a levels for the other three.

I find history really hard and boring, but should i keep it on anyway due to the decent grade?

Firstly what uni were you hopping to get into for econ?
Secondly check out thread which has lots of analysis on this subject:

hopefully an A or B in economics, B in maths and an A or B in ICT (ideal scenario)

I haven't dropped anything yet, but like 90 - 95% of people in the 6th form have.

My dad thinks im just taking the easy way out if I drop a subject, and he cant understand why i want to drop one, and i know that if i dont get amazing grades (by doing three) he will be on my back big time.

By the way even one of my teachers told me that there is no point in doing 4 (not applying to oxbridge)
But was thinking about Nottingham or a place that offers Abb/AAB/BBA - is three subjects ok, and does this uni consider ICT as soft?

Yes I believe unis do consider ICT to be soft.. ICT is on both LSE and Cambridge blacklists:
http://www.lse.ac.uk/resources/undergraduateProspectus2009/howToApply.htm
http://www.cam.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/requirements/index.html#course

So if you do take ICT only take it as one of 4. And I am not sure it is worth taking it even then.Instead I think you should concentrate on your core skills. Many top unis demand not just Maths A-level but also a grade A in it. Look at column M of the A-level worksheet of TAELT 2009:

Were else are you thinking of applying to?
