I third it. The book starts from the absolute beginning and comes with a CD that has exercises to do which follow on from the book.

one thing tho, the lecturer who wrote it (my soon to be lecturer :wink: ) is releaseing a 4th edition, its out on the 29th of august, so you may want to wait till then to buy it, you wont miss out on much if you get the third edition however

and tbh its an absaloute gem of a book, the cd is really good with tasks throughout each unit, so you dont jsut copy from the book, you actually get to solve problems whilst learning the most important points of OOP

Videos are great for newbies getting started with programming imo, much easier then reading a book.
