I really need some advice.

I've just got my As level results back and got the following results;
history-A
chemistry-B
Biology-C
maths-E

They are not at all what i wanted as i was considering a number of courses inculding law. The problem i have is that when i chose my subjects i had other things in mind and ended up choosing really hard subjects that i didn't really have to choose such as chemistry and maths. What i really wanted was AAB but was way off that.
Another thing that really annoys me is that i know other people are getting really good results in much easier subjects which i could also have excelled in.
Now i'm wondering if i should take up another AS level in a subject i know i could get an A in (english for example) and wait an extra year to go to a university and take a better course (AAB). Should i also still apply this year even if i do choose to take up another AS level?

Any advise would be really appreciated as i'm feeling really confused at the moment. Thank you.

ABCE is what i got, granted i didn't apply to the top Unis for Law but i still got respectable offers from 4 decent unis, so it is doable.
