Hi everyone,
I applied for Special Consideration for my A-Levels during the exam period, and was meant to be gaining a 2% allowance (i.e. increase in marks). This application was expressed in the form of a visit to the hospital and a doctor's note and this was given to my school. It just so happens that I've missed a grade by something like 1%, and, (clutching at straws) wanted to check if the scores on my exam sheet have taken this into consideration, or even if my application was successful at all.

Is there any way of checking whether your ALevel scores actually include the 2% allowance for Special Consideration? (i'm under the impression that my school didnt send the letter.

Maybe you could phone your school?

But remember 2% on one exam will not equal 1% of your overall grade, so you may have missed it anyway.

Our school applied for special consideration for my entire French class and on the teacher's results sheet our names were starred if we had received it. I'm not sure if we actually got it because if our marks were high and not widly different from our predicted grades, they might not have done anything.

I was told it would say on your results slips, I was meant to receive special consideration, and i asked my tutor if i got it. He said no because it would have said so on my results papers.

hmm - I was supposed to receive special consideration and I have nothing about it on my results sheet for the exam which coincidentally was my worst grade in lit. Oh dear.

I had nothing on my sheet either, it was just on my teacher's sheet. Maybe check with them.

Ahh I see, thank you! I think the entire class is being remarked anyways so I'll ask, I personally thought it was the best exam I'd ever done - but it may have been the illness talking

I was actually very sick on the day of the two main German exams. Didn't apply for special consideration. Now I regret it, cause I am 4 marks away from the shiny B.

I'm certain I had special consideration given that I didn't sit one exam at all and got an A in it (I had glandular fever which was at its worst point at the time, and done other exams from home). There's no trace on the results that I didn't sit it, though - it appears the same as the others.

In other words, I don't think you can know - I think if special consideration was visible, Universities would be taking off the 2% or whatever and treating borderline passes as the grade below, so it's probably good that it isn't.
