I chose Kent as insurance, and the impresson I got was that people who did so would be very lucky to get accommodation if they ended up going.

Luckily I made the conditions of my firm, and I could be wrong, but good luck.

^ No, you will get accomodation. As long as you applied for it before the July deadline, they promise that they will give on campus accomodation, no matter if you were firm or insurance. The only thing is you might not get what you wanted.

Two years ago I was accepted to Kent as my insurance - I asked for a self-catered room in either Tyler or Parkwood, and got offered a catered room in Keynes (I didn't end up going that year). Saying that you can always be lucky, my friend in the same position got an en-suite room in Tyler B.
