Question Greetings and Salutations

Hello there anybody and everybody,

Yes this is your typical bog standard 'Hello I'm new' post

I'm a little confused and I'm going to try and work my way around the forums as I'm currently trying to get myself back in to college,

I have found the course I'm interested in but I have a few queries that I could not sort out upon the open university site,

I shall post my problem below in case anybody here can help but if there is another part of the website that I should post this in then please somebody point me in the correct direction!

Also, does anybody else find the website/forums loading times quite slow?

My problem is

Hey there guys and girls, I'm trying to apply for a course in Spanish

'L194 Portales: beginners' Spanish' to be exact.

http://www.open.ac.uk/courses/tasters/l194/

I'm having a little difficulty with the site though, I've done the calculation for finacial assistance and it came back saying

Quote:
Financial Support

For students resident in England or Northern Ireland.

From the information you have provided it appears that you could be eligible for the maximum award which would be:

* Your fees paid up to a value of £785 for courses totalling 30 points or more but less than 90 credit points
* A course grant of £255 to help with study expenses.
Now I'm printing out the Access to learning fund sheet, Is this what I use in order to receive the Financial support?

http://www.open.ac.uk/courses/Access...-Fund-1107.pdf

The reason I'm confused is that when I click register for the course It tries to charge me £410.. which I don't have, hence why I'm applying for the learning fund/financial support,

Also the course says you will require a PC + Internet access, the 1st being ok but the 2nd being dodgy due to me using neighbours internet, I have herd somewhere that it is possible for them to pay for your internet connection, can anybody confirm/deny?

thanks for any help and sorry for WOT

Thanks for any help and I look forward to enjoying the forums
