Default AS and GCSE

I scored 3 A's and a D at AS but only B's at GCSE. I dont think AS is any harder than GCSE, but I may be wrong. I'm probally in for a big shock when I start A2

AS harder than GCSE?

I don't think so.

It is much harder in my opinion. I'm just looking at my AS results and I've got abysmal results in subjects where I got A's and A*'s in.

I think AS is harder than GCSE. At GCSE i got 1 A*, 7 As and 2 Bs and my AS results were 1 A, 2 Bs and 2 Cs. Admittedly some of my teachers haven't been too brilliant this year and my revision techniques leave a lot to be desired but these aren't problems that I didn't have last year. I've heard from a few people that there's quite a big leap from AS to A2, not looking forward to it!

How is it possible for anybody to get an A at A-Level then?

You're dumb.

How does anybody get A grades at A-level, then?

edit: Oh, well it would seem that I'm quite slow.

I certainly found maths harder at A-level than at GCSE, but then GCSE maths was a joke. Physics and chemistry, however... I know I was better prepared at AS than at GCSE, but I still don't think the jump in difficulty was that great.

Most people I know have done either worse or the same in AS compared to GCSE. And with much more work in general, plus less than half the number of subjects.

I got average GCSEs and AAAB at A2/AS (to this point). But that's probably because I didn't take GCSEs seriously and never opened a book for revision.

I don't think the leap from GCSE to AS was particuarly difficult. A few more essays, i bit more indepth and more reading; but on the whole an easy transsion.

However, i've been told that the step from AS to A2 is the tricky one, so i'm not really looking forward to it as much. Just have to see how it goes i guess.

Dont be rediculous. You got a D in one subject which although isnt bad isnt a B is it. I think you need to rethink through your logic my friend

A serious answer is that A-levels are much harder, but you spend much more time working for them, so it kinda balances out.
