my girlfriend wants me to go get tested at the Sexual Health Clinic at the local hospital but i don't really know what to expect. I have heard many horror stories about things they do to you there and having never been before i am aprehensive about going.

What exactly do they do and what should be expecting?

I can't really tell you what they'd do as you sound like a guy, but they can test for simpler STIs (chlamydia etc) by just urine testing, where you pee in a pot. Anything else would be a swab.

Either way, your girlfriend is worth it right? So just go do it, ten minutes and you're out.

Go in wait for a while, they call you into a room and you have a chat about why and sexual partners etc. then they have a feel and a look, you may then get a swab if your getting fully tested and finish by having a piss in a cup. Not too bad really.

You get a descent amount of free condoms too (I got 16 =] lol)
