Please help - I'm worried I may be pregnant?

I know the chances are very slim, but even still if theres a small chance its bad enough! Basically, im 19 and my periods have been pretty irregular for the past 2 or 3 years. I'm not on any birth control pills. I last had sex (with a condom) at the end of february possibly 26th. I got my period on the 26th of March (6 and a half weeks since my last period). Its now been 8 and a half weeks, and I havent yet had a period? I had very very light spotting which lasted about just over a week which started maybe 2 weeks ago. Its gone now though. I havent lost/gained a lot of weight recently, im not under any stress, im not taking any medication at all. Whats going on?

[QUOTE=Helenia;13993607]Pregnancy – how it happens, tests, and what to do next.

Is it possible to gt pregnant even if you have an implant?

I keep getting cramps and pains in the side of my stomach, i have noticed my stomach has gotten harder and changing shape.
Could you fall pregnant or am i being paranoid?

ThankYou for your help in advance..x

The implant is one of the safest forms of contraception out there, with an absolutely minuscule failure rate. I'd never say never, but it's extremely unlikely for you to get pregnant on it, assuming it's not out of date or anything. If you're concerned though, take a pregnancy test, and if it's negative and the symptoms are still bothering you, see your GP.

It was a big scare story at the time, but 600 out of the total number which have been fitted (over 1 million in the UK) still works out at <0.5% per year. It is FAR more effective than virtually anything except the Mirena and possibly sterilisation. This was a scare story designed to play on the public's lack of understanding of statistics and the whole "big pharma is evil" thing.

Just wondered what people thought about using the turkey basters method to get pregnant, and how safe/healthy it is? Thanks

Do you mean having artificial insemination done at a proper fertility clinic, or do you mean actual DIY-in-your-frontroom?

DIY. Like with a 10ml syringe (without the needle) with the fresh semen. Lying down on back with legs high and inserting the syringe till comfortable and then the getting semen in by pushing the plunger then holding down for 20 minutes kind.

Edit: No one panic! I'm asking for a friend lol. She wants to get pregnant that way and said she had heard lots of positive stories and is really bent on it, but I wanted to double check.

I have never met anyone who has done this successfully. Not to say it's not been done, but unless you do it under proper conditions, then a)probably not very likely to succeed (sperm die really easily etc) and b)not insignificant risk of infection which could be v nasty.

Why can't your friend just have sex?

I was worried when she was telling me this as well, but she said if she tries for a good few months then she could be successful :dontknow: I just worried and wanted to double check it was safe and healthy and fairly successful. You reckon she should go to a clinic to do it then?

Oh she has plenty of sex

    Spoiler:
    Show
    She's a lesbian

I would never recommend anyone tries to do it themselves this way. I don't know, however, what her rights would be regarding NHS fertility treatment, and private clinics are very expensive, so I can understand why she'd want to look for alternatives. Sorry not to be more helpful!

It's pretty unlikely, given what you've told us. You should probably take a test just to reassure yourself though. And consider seeing your GP about your irregular periods.

In my opinion, I had your period after your last sexual practice, thus, there is little chance that you might be pregnant. Then, I can go to drugstore and purchase one fertility test kit to make sure that you are ok and take it easy.

Re: Pregnancy - information and questions
Hi, another pregnancy worry here! Sorry if it sounds paranoid but... here goes!

I'm worried that I might be pregnant. I am in a long distance relationship and last saw my boyfriend two months ago. I am on the pill and am always good with taking it, however, thinking back, I had an upset stomach a few times while I was there so there is a chance it made my pills ineffective, but I don't know how big the chance is..

I had a VERY short period last month, so I assumed I wasn't pregnant but it was really very light, lasting only 2 days, while usually I am heavy.

a few weeks after coming home, I came off the pill so waited for my period to come naturally, so maybe this interfered with my hormones etc but I am really worried as my breasts are feeling really tender (which also rarely happens with me, despite the fact that I have been on/off the pill for the past 5 years) and my period was due about two days ago. I also had another strange symptom that is a bit gross (sorry...): about two weeks ago when I wiped after going to the toilet, I had a very thick, clear string (THICK though, not like the normal kind! Almost like jelly :/) of discharge. This also made me worry as it is not something I have ever had before and it shocked me. Sorry for the horrible details but I just want to know if anyone has had this in early pregnancy? Is it a symptom?

If I am pregnant then I will not want to abort it, as I know I couldn't. My boyfriend and I are stable together and very much in love, but our situation is incredibly complex in terms of finances and of course from being long-distance. So, if it turns out I am pregnant it will be very difficult.

I know I should just wait and take a test but I'm so worried that I wanted opinions right now. Any similar stories or advice would be great!

I had unprotected sex in late March. I would have gone for the MAP but I was in a foreign country with work. I have had some very light bleeding each month which I wouldn't really consider a proper period (but I have very irregular periods) and 3 negative pregnancy tests. I was due early this month but have yet to have a period. I'm not particularly stressed about the situation. I've also gained weight around my stomach. I'm having a blood test for pregnancy in 2 weeks but if anyone here has experience a pregnancy or knowledge of pregnancy, I'd love to hear about what you think about my situation.

My boyfriend and I had sex for the first time 9 days ago. We used a condom. Well actually we did it twice within about an hour. Both times using a different condom.

I'm not on the pill, My last period ended 4days before the coitus.
Anyway, today I woke up at 6.30 and vommed violently. Then again twice more at about 8.15 and 9.40. I've also had lots of lower back pain all day and felt nauseous.
last night I also had pain 'down there' consistent to the pains I get the night before my period starts.

I'm worried I could be pregnant, even though at no point did his semen go inside me. The condom didnt break. he washed himself off and everything.
My next period isnt due until the 16th.

What do you think the chances of me being pregnant are. vs it just being a tummy bug :/

    Hi,
It's very unlikely that you're pregnant because you used a condom correctly both times. It sounds more like a sickness bug, especially because you say that you were violently sick. If you miss your period, take a pregnancy test.
