I found it quite interesting even though I am crap at mechanics.

It much more interesting than maths!!!
much more fun than maths.

Overall physics is good, enjoyable and interesting and it actually makes sence you understand were all these maths equations come from and how they exist.

unilke maths where is just this is the law you do this iwth it, you dont need to understand why or how or what this has to do with your life ujust gotta learn it!

Without Physcis, MATHS would have never existed!!!!!!

I recently did edexcel too and it was the worst exam for me. I got a C for AS :s-smilie: No wonder i have dropped it...

yeah... i ended up with a B in AS since i messed up my practical exam. I considered dropping it, but my teacher advised me not to.
I've decided to take Physics over economics (it was in the same column), so yeah...hopefully I'll do well in it. I'm taking maths but may take stats...hmm, because if I'm honest I don't think I'd do well in Mechanics; it looks crazy!

Anyone on here do physics wjec?

I did the AQA A syllabus too and just got an A in AS. It's not bad to be honest... mechanics is quite easy if u like maths and the practical is quite fun (if u read the instructions properly).
It's sort of like GCSE AQA physics but just more indepth with more concepts to understand.
But thats AQA A-level physics, not sure about other exam boards.

I did AQA B and found it very dull. I got a comfortable A but I really didn't enjoy it at all.

I suspect that the material itself is fairly interesting, but the way that it is presented is not. I did and enjoyed M1-M5 so it's hardly as if I'm averse to anything physics-related.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
AS OCR A
Good syllabus; some challenging concepts but the exams are fairly easy. Interesting final topic on waves which talks about why two light sources cannot be coherent etc. -that kind of thing is really fun. Don't know much about the classroom aspect of it but as an A Level its a good one to do and reasonably interesting.

And you are a ******!!!

Where do you think mathmatics came from???

What are the origins of matmatics Genious!!

I love Physics, but the Edexcel version seems difficult to get the top grades in. No-one in my class ever got an A in ANY of the modules at AS (but this could be down to poor teaching as well).

But it was very enjoyable and interesting.
OCR A's pretty difficult and can be boring at times, but it's worth it once it's done and it's a well respected A-level. The A2 options modules are great (although if you're on OCR A you won't have them next year) and they mean you can really specialise in an area of Physics.

Ok i had my college interview today and they said that i would find Physics really difficult even though i got an A in maths GCSE.

I'm doing all sciences with IPRO and i just don't want to drop a subject for maths. But they said i can try AS physics and if i dont like it then i can drop it in october.

So is Physics really that hard?

When I did it, I put the ceiling on fire and shot a gun. Other than that we did quite a few experiments. I found Cosmology crap, it was all theory.

If you can get the formulae and maths all correct, you should be fine.
It's fantastic, but I would say that seeing as though I want to do Physics at uni.

Also don't listen to people exaggerate it's difficulty. If you're naturally good at science then it's not really any tougher than the other sciences.
If you dont actually WANT to do it then i would definitely advise against choosing it - because without the motivation of enjoying physics it can be the most boring subject in the world (luckily for me i like physics )

Also, especially for AS (edexcel) physics, doing maths with mechanics (edexcel) will definitely take the pressure off unit 1 as pretty much all the potentially hard mechanics stuff in physics is dealt with in greater detail in M1

I hope this helps
I don't know about A-Level, but the boredom of GCSE put me off.
edexcel papers are easier i think, but the marking is very dodgy (as with all edexell papers I did) so that more than makes up for it being oficially the worst exam board to do physics with!!!

Electricity and thermal physics, i found boring! Mechanics was ok - a bit simple (yet i had my lowest score in that module ). I definitley love Nuclear and Particle Physics - its amaaaaazzziing!!!!

A2 seems a bit hard at the moment - all that simple harmonic jazz and centrepetal palaver is quite honestly a bit up itself! We'll just see how it goes - carrying on to A2! :yep:
