Take a film that is on today - on terrestrial TV only please - and give it your review:
Obviously change from day to day etc... Let us know what's on and whether it's worth watching
I begin today's affair with:
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back:
Regards to Mr Smith. Clerks was an excellent escapade. Shot in a rather striking black and white and rather catching, full of stuff I'd love to do to people whilst at work - but come on you goon. You're getting self-obsessed or something, what the frigg is this you've made.
Milk a character why don't you. It's not enough is it, we only have Mallrats, Dogma, Clerks II and God knows what else. But now you're striking back.
Well good for you, but not for us.
Okay the sypnosis. Jay and Silent Bob the ultimate duo are rampaging about trying to get some moolah from some movie dudes who are making a movie adapatation of a comic which features them in it for some reason. So ensues a daft road trip peppered with daft antics and mad cameos from the likes of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Will Ferrell. It's amusing enough stuff, but as far as entertainment goes and laughs I don't find it so amazing at all. Not even the presence of the hot women which Mr Mewes can gawk over like some sort of wincing berk can save this film from being another load of predictable, dryly laughed away tosh.
Seriously, a viewing sure. One, make sure you have some booze with you. You needn't watch it more than once as the jokes soon dwindle into obscurity along with Jay the beanie clad moron and his supposedly wise silent friend who seems to get podgier with each film. Loved Mr Smith in Die Hard 4.0 amazed he could fit in his seat, the lard ass.
Size aside, the actual film ain't that bad. It's funny enough, and has some sort of vague plot to laugh to, but it's a bit dry, and a bit silly. And overall if you think you're going to put it on and be able to get your teeth into it, think you're going to be seeing some gem-like performances, or an astounding sex scene or something that'll force a repeat viewing you'll be sorely disappointed. Even Matt Damon can't save this, or Ben Affleck even if he donned his Daredevil suit and camma-raddery. - I can't spell that - Cool sounding word though, it stays.
So to summarise, another load of annoying stuff from Smith's duo. From plucking nun pubes from their teeth to labelling Jason Biggs as a pie ****** the comedy is gross out apparently, but hardly shocking any more, and hardly that funny. So if you ain't seen it go ahead, but if you have you'll probably know it's not worth five minutes of your time. And seeing as it clashes with The Thomas Crown Affair remake and Bedazzled I'm sure you'll figure it's a far better exploit if you go to the pub tonight because there's F all on.
Rating - 6/10 - for trying.
