wow your 1 is really high my 1 is 0.6 lol but yh what does it mean?
I think Cambridge have scrapped that. Not sure though.

It basically gives 1 point for every A* at GCSE and 0.6 for every A

were they using this system to decide who to interview and who not to?

Doesn't mean much.

It's just the way they rank GCSE grades, or used to. They give a weighting of 1 for every A* and a weighting of 0.6 for every A - they also have a multiplier depending on how bad/good your school is. For example, because of my school I get an extra 2.9~ added to my score.

do they use these scores to decide anything though ?

I'm not sure.

The average is about ~8 though.
What did they have as a 'entry point score' before they scrapped it?

That's a bit unfair though because some people on here took 14 GCSE's and some only took 10!

For anyone wondering why the link isn't working, it should be "gradeinfo" rather than "gradinfo".

I wouldn't trust this thing at the extremes. It tells me I've got the best A level results in the country, despite all the people in the newspapers who did better. It is only intended to be a rough guide and is most accurate for students with fairly typical results.
