i don't know whether i should apply because i just can't see them looking past the appalling grades
what do i do? is it wiser to take a gap year and apply
EDIT: i will be doing an AEA in maths
those are decent GCSE's but what was the C in? how far off are the B's from A's?the fact you had A's in all the maths modules means you're not out of it yet. Imperial have insane maths requirements so I expect they give out enough offers to cover the many people who will inevitably fail to meet the offers. write a fantastic personal statement mentioning everything from Dragon Fractals and Game Theory to the Riemann Hypothesis. Obviously be prepared to talk a bit about whatever you mention however but I think any genuine depth of knowledge and passion for the subject will go a long way with the admissions tutors. make sure you get AAA prediction from tutors though, thats important. good luck!
