Question Nursing degree for Graduate entry

Does anyone know how universities regard a nursing degree when applying for graduate entry for medicine. Obviously it provides you with some clinical and (for want of a better word) people skills (and would possibly put you above the competition in that respect) but is it academically rigorous enough for medicine?

You need to do some research.
Here might be a good start - there's a summary table of the graduate entry courses and you can click on each medical school for further info and contact details.

Some love people from a healthcare background (but perhaps even more so if you have experience working as a nurse) but some won't accept it as sciencey enough at the moment... & in 3 years time or so it might all be different! So careful decision making.

Thanks.
I would definitely work for a couple of years after qualifying before thinking about applying for medicine. I suppose I just wanted to see if graduate medicine would be an option for me (as it is always in the back of my mind) or whether I would be ruling it out by working as a nurse

http://www.medschoolsonline.co.uk/index.php?pageid=16 - Leicester's graduate entry med course only accepts people who are health care professionals , and then there are the courses that aren't subject specific

Great, coincidently I'd just looked at Leicester's website, but medschoolonline sets it all out a lot clearer. Its great that they reserve it mainly for healthcare graduates but I suppose it then makes it harder to stand out

Even art degrees are allowed at Leicester but you still gotto see that they love work experience so if you have a few years work experience then go for it but don't waste a choice if you have < 1 year work experience (for GEP only).
