Hi I am a new to TSR and I need your help I am looking to read Mathematics at Cambridge, academically I am strong. However, i am worried about the extra-curricular aspect. So, can you recommend what sort of work experiance, volunteering, extra-curric stuff will look good
For maths? I doubt many of the successful mathmos do anything other than maths in their spare time
Extra curriculars (Duke of Edinburgh, student council, saving the Earth in Africa and whatnot) really doesn't matter that much. It's academic potential & ability - and perhaps even more so for mathematics where it's such a non-vocational and clear-cut subject that it's purely your ability which will matter. Do some wider reading, and practice your maths - do preparation for STEP, teach yourself extra modules, maybe consider Additional Further Maths etc.
