Default Film Studies and Media Studies...
 
I was wondering if they are the same subject.

Because im doing film studies and my bro is doing media studies at a different school.

No, they're not. Film Studies will focus only on the study of film, where Media Studies will encompass film, print, TV broadcast, or whatever modules your school chooses to do.

No; film studies focuses purely on film. Media studies focuses on film, television, magazines etc - it's much broader.

Film studies is the academic study of film. Media studies is the study of newspapers, TV, magazines etc.
