Okay, I've just been on the Leeds Tickets website to discover that most of the freshers week events have already sold out!! I've managed to get tickets for the intro party and freshers ball but now have no idea what I'm going to do for the rest of the week!! Has anyone else not managed to get any tickets? Do you reckon anymore will become available?! I knew I should have bought them earlier but I'm just very disorganised!!

Gah. That annoys me. I've got an intro party ticket but wanted to wait and see what my new flatmates etc were doing before buying loads of tickets. Oh well. Hello Leeds city centre rather than the union.

That's exactly what I thought! Hopefully all my flatmates won't be super organised and have all their tickets already!!

I really doubt everyone will have been so organised to buy tickets for stuff every night., and i they have, we can go out and find other people who haven't bought tickets!

Wow really? I saw that the combo ticket for into and the ball had sold out so I quickly bought a freshers ball ticket so I wouldn't miss out on it. I'm sure there'll be plenty of people who haven't got any tickets, surely they must have some left over to sell from the box office or something?

Otherwise let's hit the town centre

I think there are still at least some tickets available because I've just tried to get tickets for glamracket, the school disco and fruity and it let me add them to my basket. If not, Leeds city centre it is!

Yep, I'm confused now!! I just went on again to see if it would let me buy a school disco ticket and it has!! A few hours ago it wouldn't let me add it to the basket! Maybe they have restocked as it was more popular than they thought! And yep, fresher's ball is formal dress

If you can't find anywhere to go on the Friday, go to the Cockpit by the station after 11 it's a dead good night out and they have mint stamps!

don't worry too much about this - the stuff that is selling out is just the events that have been put on by the Students Union, there will be lots of freshers events going on at this time in clubs/bars in town where you will also meet students from Leeds Met, locals and ex students who are still in Leeds (like me)

you will get a rainforest full of fliers pushed onto you in those early days at uni, advertising various nights and stuff, so if you are in halls you are bound to find other people who haven't got tickets for the freshers' events, and you will find somewhere to go

Surely second years shouldn't be allowed as such events.

That'd be really unfair.

I dunno whether I'm too fussed about this or not. It would of been nice to dress up all formal I suppose.

I do agree with you there, 2nd years and older shouldnt be coming, there are plenty of other opportunities for them to go out and these should be for freshers to mix with other new people. I tend to stick to going out in town if I go out during Freshers week, I think guys especially who are going to freshers events are going for sinister reasons, pull a fresher is basically, 'take advantage of an 18 year old girl who feels nervous in a strange city and craves attention for security', this often ends into a 3 or 4 week "relationship" where the guy is getting his end away and then the girl ends up gutted when she realises he is just looking to score for some fun

Don't worry everyone, I just had a panic attack when I read this thread and rushed to get tickets. I ordered some for:
22nd Intro Party + Freshers' Ball joint ticket
23rd Bad Robot Launch Party
24th School Disco
26th Fruity
27th Wax:On
29th Happy Mondays Launch Party

Literally I did this a few minutes ago and it all went through fine!

Although I would advise purchasing some of these in the next few days
