I am currently considering teaching Bus Ed and would like to know what I would need to know for interviews etc, with regard to subject knowledge.

WHen I start a PGCE, it will have been 2 years since graduating so would like to brush up on my knowledge. CAn anyone who has done similar offer some advice? Is there any particular reading up I can do?

Just buy some business studies text books? If you've got a degree in it, even two years out you should be more than fine with your subject knowledge!

Try browsing online materials like journals, magazines that gives you the latest updates on your subject matter or get some new textbooks and read it.

I agree with studynz, keep up to date with the latest news in the business world, such as what companies are doing what etc, Primark and ethics etc all this helps. As well just refer to all your old notes to refresh your head.

I am on a year out now, but intend on going to MMU crewe to study pgce business with ict next sept 09. Where are you planning on going AdaD?

Thanks.

I am not sure really, have just been requesting lots of information from various Uni's. I would like to go to a decent University but I fear that my 2:2 may limit my options. I understand that a 2:2 is a requirement for many providers but I don't have any school/observational experience at the moment. I am not sure when to get this because I don't want to leave my job to do it and then decide it's not for me/not be accepted onto a course.

Am I right to assume that it is necessary to have some experience prior to applying or is it sufficient to state my intention to gain some in my application? Would one day observing in a school be sufficient? Also, the CRB check may take a while which would further delay the experience gaining process.

I understand the importance of applying as soon as possible but is it still possible to get a place if my application is received early 2009? I assume that it will be possible considering the fact that applications for 2008 entry were still being taken until 2nd September.

However, if I am to do a PGCE I need to get some travelling in (something I've never done, holidays aside) before starting, so that is my motivation to hurry up!
