I'm on a gap year, been working n stuff up till now, but heading to Tanzania for 8 months on Jan 10th to do voluntary work and travel, then off to uni in October
I am too! I am working at the moment at a Nursing home just to get enough moolah for my time in China. I leave on Feb 22nd. I cannot wait!! I am going to Beijing for a few days first, then I spend a week in Kunming, before going to Qujing which is where I'll be teaching English. I am going to be living with an Australian called Lachlan, and he seems a really nice guy. I am in China teaching until mid-June, and then I will be off travelling around Asia. I don't know where to yet, but I want to see Hong Kong, Shanghai and other places around China. And then I'd quite like to see Tibet, Mongolia, Russia, and maybe a bit of Eastern Europe. It's going to be a hell of a trip!
I am on one too. I spent 10 weeks at a research lab in America and am now looking for a job here. I hold a deferred place to read medicine at King's College, Cambridge.
All you deferred places are Oxbridge are soooooooo lucky!!!!!
Your chances of getting an offer with a deffered entry is significantly lower than it is normally.... I want to take a gap year but too afraid to....

Well, I'm applying to clare college, Cambridge for maths.
They accept between 10 ans 12 maths students a year. Out of them only one or two are allowed to go for a gap year. So... just a question of probability really.... Visesh, aren't u already in Cam. doing maths? or am i mistaken?

Well it depends on how many people actually want to defer though doesn't it? AFAIK in courses like medicine and architecture (ie those with quotas), a deffered entry candidate increases the competition for next year's places- ie there is less quota space left. Nah I am not doing maths- I just sometimes reply to maths threads if I am bored. Just medicine next year for me thankns.

Not if you do Engineering. In many cases they prefer gap year students.
I am on a gap year doing a Year In Industtry placement for SLE in Oxford. Next year I will be studying engineering at Trinity College Cambridge
lol, you are THE immediate successor to one of my best mates.
He worked for Sharp in Oxford on a YINI placement during his gap year, and is currently in his first year reading engineering at Trinity Cambridge.
i took a gap year last year as well. I travelled to Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and France for the first 6 months, then came back in January to work in the Pension Service, part of the Department for Work and Pensions, for 8 months. In between I did quite a bit of music (violin), and sport, such as croquet and martial arts.

are you still doing circuit efficiency testing?
You know Albert then?
I'm not doing circuit efficiency testing - I'm creating a MySQL database to store test results.

If you go to the capital in Mongolia, my brother runs an English themed pub there called 'Daves Place' Ewan McGregor was in there not so long ago when he was travelling about
