This is a book I haven't read but my mum told me about when I was around 14 and now cannot remember what I'm talking about.

Its a story about these travellers, when they travel to they go to one of a number of universes (its something like 7 worlds or something) and when they travel there they leave there bodies behind.

I THINK it follows one man, who is (like the others of his kind) being hunted by people in their main world (I assume this one). When these travellers visit other worlds, they leave their body behind.

Anybody know what this is? Thank you muchly for any help

I only read this within the last year, but I can't remember what it was or who wrote it and I really enjoyed it! It was about this woman who was overweight and since she'd finished University and the guy she liked had moved away for a while she'd been losing the weight so that when he returned he'd fall in love with her. In the meantime she thinks she should get a "practice boyfriend" and ends up dating this really hot guy called Max who works with her sister (something to do with fashion). The woman also works in a library/archive and is trying to write a biography for someone. She also lives in a house that's converted into flats; her sister and her brother (and his wife, who is always horrible to her) live in the other 2. Any ideas?

Edit: Never mind! Much Googling found it for me!

You don't have to say you love me by Sarra Manning Would definitely recommend it, a very girly book (as I'm sure you could tell from the description ), but a really fun read!

I have two book I want to find!

one I used to love was directed at teenagers and was some plot about an evil man who lived in a castle/isolated place who basically kidnapped this girl to make her fall in love with him, but she was in love with someone else who was trying to find her?! I havent read it for at least 5 years so sorry for being so vague!

the other one was a romance novel written in the past about a woman who visted her friend and would have tea in the garden with her, an old woman and her friends brother who she eventually falls in love with, im sure the title has something to do with a garden/gate but cant find out what it is1

Does anyone know of this book about a love story set during war (might have been the world wars but seem to think it was earlier than that) and ends in the man dying? The cover is dark (almost black I think) has a flower on it or is flowery...I know if I could see the cover I'd recognise it immediately but can't for the life of me think of the title now!

I've been trying to remember the title of a book for ages and it's really bothering me so maybe somebody could help me out:
It's a futuristic Young Adult novel where the upper class have access to a drug that gives them immortality, but the lower class are not allowed it. I believe the protagonist was a teenage boy who managed to hack into the surveillance system at the big chemistry corporation that were making this drug but he got caught. I think he was taken into the factory after that, and maybe had some connection with the upper class? I'm not 100% sure though. I don't remember what else happens.

I'd love to find out the author/title or even just some more details about the plot in case that helps me in my endeavour to find it again! Thank you.

Could it be a Diana Wynne Jones book? Her Chrestomanci books (and others) all have this sort of world-travelling thing, though there are (I think!) 12 series with 7 worlds each. Never read about the leaving a body behind :|

I'm looking for a book I read when I was a kid. It was about a bunch of kids who go to a hotel for a holiday or something, and while they're there come rich, famous people are also there. The rich, famous woman loses her pearl necklace, and it turns out it was stolen by a set of Quintuplets (?) who believe that they are identical quintuplets, while actually they're not, and they're not even quintuplets.

Oh, and at the climax of the story, one of the kids is suffocating because of hay fever. And the pearls were ground up and stored in a pepper shaker. Yes, it was crazy. I really want to read it again! Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I've been searching for a book I read at school called 'The Quay' (I think) online and I really have to idea where to get it.

After about two hours of very random google searches I have found a post on yahoo answers which says...

well i quite like the book "the quay" it's about a boy who lives on a island during the time of black slavery, but due to bombings ( it takes place during a war ) he is stranded on an island with a black man named timothy and a cat called stew cat. phillip was always told by his parents to avoid black people but now he has no choice but to befriend timothy. really good book=) worth reading=)

Ok, so this is a fairly new book (I think) and I read the synopsis in the shop and it sounded good, but I've forgot what it was!

It was about a boy who could talk to the ghost of a giraffe and I'm almost sure there was a cat on the front cover.

Sorry, I know this isn't much to go on :')

It has a picture of a giraffe on the cover but it's a child's drawing so I can see how it might have looked cat-like

Ok, so for an art exercise, my teacher handed us out passages from different books, and basically, we had to take what we liked from the passage and use it as inspiration for a piece.
In my passage, a young boy is describing his town as he cycles past. When he passes a small shop, he goes into great description about the old woman who works behind the counter. Apparently, she's this terrifying figure and everyone dreads going up to the counter. Funnily enough, she is also the main reason kids smoke in this town. The reason being, is when people go up to the counter to pay, she'll ask you "Is that everything?" or something along those lines. The person being asked is so scared of her that they begin to doubt themselves and wonder if they really did have everything. They go into a sort of internal struggle, which is made all the more harrowing by this scary old lady looking back at them and quietly judging. The person then looks slightly behind her and see packs of cigarettes. To break the 'spell' the person would ask for a pack of cigarettes, even if they've never touched one before in their life.
I know it sounds weird, and to top things off, I think its an autobiography. Don't hold me to that, but I just have this feeling.
