You might wanna note that alkanes are saturated while alkenes are unsaturated. Saturated means that all the bonds are single and I remembered it as "single - saturated" just in case they use that terminology. I know they've used it in Standard Grade papers.

Yea that is commonly asked at Standard grade. You should also be aware that by addition of a hydrogen an alkene such as propene can be changed into propane changing the double carbon bond into a single covalent bond. Bromine soloution can also be added to an unsaturated hydrocarbon in an addition reaction, joining across a double carbon bond.

Or you could chose to ignore me as i think i'm wittering on a bit. :biggrin:
