I thought i would put down some links and books i have found that have been really helpful to me so far (dont know how helpful, since my breifing isnt for a while, but hey ho!)
The woman at my Army Careers Office is brilliant, and gave me a reading list, which is as follows-
Oxford History of the British Army- David Chandler
Passing Psycometric Tests- Andrea Shavick (you can pick this up for 50p on Amazon, and it has loads of brilliant practice tests)
IQ and Psychometric Tests- Philip Carter
The British Officer- leading the Army from 1660 to the present- Anthony Clayton
Acts of War- the behaiviour of men in battle- Richard Holmes
Encyclopedia of modern British Army Regiments- P.D. Griffin
Since this is mainly an RAF board, i thought i would throw in what i have been slogging my guts out for weeks preparing for! Any other wannabe army people please PM me, would be nice to stress out together!!

Tom
Mainly a crab board my arse. Not while I have breath in my body and lead in my pencil! Best of luck chum, I'm sure you'll be fine.
Have you done your briefing yet? What did you get?
I would recommend reading Soldier, by General Sir Mike Jackson (The ex head of the army).
For current affairs: http://english.aljazeera.net/English/
the BBC website
a magazine called "The Week",
as well as a good broadsheet and a tabloid everynow and again.
That will keep your current affairs up to date with more than one opinion on the issue.
Are you blind? At least three quarters of the threads in this forum are RAF based!
Yeah, I know. Mostly pages and pages of self-congratulatory **** fest 'look at me, I get to play near airyoplanes, aren't I cool, and special, and masculine, oh and how do I run 1.5 miles in under three days?' I'm trying to provide a more... balanced... view.

HAHA, i lol'ed.
Well, the RAF lot can use some of it too, but theres little for army boys/girls, thought i would help out.
No i havent had my briefing yet, got a reg. visit first for the Logistics at beginning of Nov. Good times.
Go for it - although remember that this subforum started with one thread in the careers section. It was a heavy on the crabness. Go on Arrse if you're uncomfortable
Everyone can add to and use what i have posted above, its not exclusive, but if there are army people on here who feel that its all about the OASC, RTC and IOT, they now see that there are others, its all good.

Your right, its wasting time as we know the army would come out on top
