Hi - Is anyone watching 'The Family' on Wednesday night. It's a fly on the wall doc about the Hughes family who were filmed over a four month period and they took about 6000 hours of footage. I think there are 4 kids (all about teenage and up). C4 have had some good docs lately and the trailers look pretty cool.

There's also an intersting survey going on with some quite inspiring figures. I should think it'll have quite a 'homely' feel about it - especially if you're away at uni. It'll probably make you miss home right enough - or maybe not!!!

yea im a bit interested bout this but i dont get how the show gona be entertaining when your just gona watch a normal british family doing what every family does.

There is a really interesting survey on the website and some of the figures are quite inspiring. For once it's not all doom and gloom. I thinkunderstand they took about a year looking for the right family which would make me think that maybe they're not your average british family after all.

Arghh! I know the daughter. Christ, shes such a bitch, thought it looked like her from the advert, wonder if itll show em in their true light. I think the mum works for a charity for pregnant teenage girls or something similar. Oh my God, she looks pregnant!


From a nespaper article on it 'Channel 4 has chosen a bunch of well-adjusted grammar school children who look like they're all going to turn out just fine. They don't even swear very much.' - RUBBISH. Emily's like something out of brat camp. She was not well adjusted, she didnt even do her A levels from what I can remember and she stormed out of lessons, got ****** grades and hung out with druggies. She's not even got plans for a career!

I dont think it totally will, looking at that review and the fact that they are 'christians' although Emily never told this to anyone at school and certainly didnt act like a 'christian'. Also they had to audition to get on there, so they're hardly a normal family are they? *fame whoares* Bet she works at Fenwicks

I think as time goes on they'll forget the cameras are there and you'll see the true family. The camera crew arent there as they're in an editing suite next door!!!

Err, no! Hehe. She actually sounds less chavvy on this than in real life and if she was still at school she'd be screaming the whole place down. Surprised how civilised she's being compared to back at school. Although she used to boss the teachers around back then. How can you order a taxi and get them to wait that long? Probably not. I feel sorry for her brother. I didnt even realise she had one! He might even go to the same school as mine. And Emily was pretty tame compared to some of the girls in my year

channel 4 are gonna repeat the show at guess what 11pm!, 1hr after it finishes on the same channel.
They must think many people are interested in the show that much and repeat it later as it would have clashed with other channels in the 9pm slot or people were out.
