If anyone has links to companies that offer short (2/3 weeks max) projects that would be good! Don't really wanna (and can't afford) a whole year away!

www.raleighinternational.org.uk offer 3-week projects (they advertise it as 4 but it mostly works out as about 3) - I did one in Borneo this summer and can't recommend it highly enough, happy to answer any questions you might have.

Think I ought to put in a word for EVS. (European Voluntary Service) run by the EU and British Council

The price... Completely FREE.

You get a grant from the European Union, which covers everything (food, accomodation, flights, insurance etc). You can go for any length of time (although 6-12 months is the norm) and you get to choose your project. Teaching, helping disabled, environmental issues, red cross, basically anything you fancy anywhere in Europe. (And "Europe" is more of a vague geographical description, you aren't limited to the 25 countries in the EU.)

http://www.britishcouncil.org/connec...ry-service.htm

Its definitely worth a look, especially if you dont fancy having to raise £4000+. Europe might not be as exotic as Africa of the Far East, but 12 months abroad for free cant be too bad, can it?

A site that is just starting up from scratch, and is aimed more at Gap Students (Gappies) that are working in schools, is www.gapstudentsonline.com - it will go fully live in December and hopes to be more than operational from Janurary.

Is there any sites which I can use to find a gap year job, in London. Such as admin or teaching.

Search for Agency sites situated in London, they are usually the best for Admin. And possibly teaching. They can offer you a short term job, or long term, depending on what you are after.
