not all 'chavs' (people who wear nike and stuff) are scum, there are some nice 'chavs' out there. and to be honest i'd rather have a uni full of 'chavs' than a uni full of stuck up rahs

I don't understand why people are scared/worried about chavs, the simplest of reasoning will confuse them and render them inert.

Chavs are prominent wherever you decide to go so there's not any way of being rid of them, unless you move to the countryside, I hear they melt if they come in contact with fresh air.
LMAO!!!! U WILL BE REPPED FOR THAT!

You really cannot beleive everything you see. Never seen any "chavs" around the uni when i went to visit. And i find it very hard to beleive that Leicester is the worst place for assualt related crimes, and i come from Birmingham. beleive Birmingham would be one of the worst next to London and possibly Nottingham.

This entire thread reeks of middle-class snobbery.

    Stop complaining you stuck-up pricks.

nah, the uni (from my experience) is mostly middle class white people. You do see a proportion of asians about but they tend to hang in groups, which is a shame really as i think asian guys are hot . ermm my point being that yes there are lots but its really not at all chavvy
    You're rather ravishing yourself :p:

I think I should answer this question with an encounter I had today.

A friend and I were walking towards town (up Granby Street if anyone knows Leicester) and 4 Asian youths...chavs, rudeboys, whatever you call them, shouted out "Oi gorgeous, you in the red (my friend) not you in the purple (me)" and continued to make vomitting noises. Anyway, thinking not much of them or it...off we went to have our dinner. On our return, the same gang of imbeciles were still hanging around and again, stood infront of my friend's path and shouted, "Oi what's your name gorgeous", then continued to follow us making various taunts. This isn't the first time I've experienced something like this in Leicester.

This could happen in any city in the whole of the country though, your post is completely meaningless in the context of this thread.

Obviously Leicester is gonna have its share of morons, just like any city anywhere on the planet.

But the question was specifically asked about Leicester. I wasn't saying that this wouldn't occur in any other city, of course it might do! The OP was under the impression that Leicester is full of chavs, and I gave my experiences of this, which is totally relevant. It's up to them to form an opinion of it.

The only people who see some good in chavs are other chavs. Chavs aren't defined, as far as im concerned, by what they wear, but by the way they behave. There are so called middle class people who I would classify as chav scum. Chavs are ignorant, rude, inconsiderate, selfish bastards who should be rounded up, piled up and burned.
The classes were first defined by the way people behaved, their intelligence and their ability to progress in society. The same is true now, for the most part. I can spot a chav a mile away, their every word/act betrays them! This country would be a much better place if they would all either grow up and learn to behave like normal human beings or just die. Either is fine by me!
