Parking Tickets (Fines)

Any one get one today while moving in?

Was told the area around my accom was all wavered for the day, but when we returned a nice big fat fine was waiting for us :p:

Been told we have to ring up/write to some person at the ticket place to waver it as it wasnt supposed to be issued....

Just wondered if any one else had this problem, because there was quite a lot of people with them on their windows heh... uni should of posted some kind of permit for students moving in just to place on window to make traffic warden ignore the car :P

Seems that the uni "has it all wrong" so says manchester city council and that my parents have to pay the £140 fine... surprised no one else complained about this, because there was quite a lot of cars with them on.

i was threatened with a clamp because i left my car parked somewhere for 10 days, but that was only because my parking permit hadn't been issued
