PS: also if someone is in the same situation as I am (new in Edinburgh and don't knowing anyone) I'd be more than happy to meet new people and hang out a little bit over there :smile:

Edinburgh University has a society called Tandem which is set up exactly for this purpose- for international students to share their language ability with someone else, and get help with their english- or another language in return.
It says on the website that members are from Edinburgh University, but I know that some members aren't- I'd just contact the organisers and explain your situation. You could also try contacting the International Students centre.
