Default Classics?

i'm starting to think about what kind of degree i'd like to do at uni. i quite like the idea of doing classics, as i've always enjoyed studying latin, and have always neeb interested in the classical world.
my only problem is, i have no idea what kind of career awaits me at the end of the course.
anyone who's done or doing a degree in classics, or simply just latin; what are the types of careers you're aiming for/ gone into?

Thanx in advance.

If you have a look at uni prospectuses (prospecti? ) they often say what fields previous students have gone into. Classics students often become involved in things like law or the civil service, but it can lead you to almost any job you want (within reason, don't do Classics if you want to be a nuclear physicist!)

I personally am interested in publishing, editing, books in general. Do you have any career plans, or any major interests?

Exactly, look at Boris Johnson! Erm, maybe not such a great example...

But if you're interested in Classics, then study it! I have no real career plan, and I doubt many people going to uni do either. Do something you enjoy, then think about a career! A degree in Classics from a good uni is always going to be well-respected, and because it's such a broad subject you can twist it to apply to any job you want! (again, within reason)
