Always worth a try, but I'm told History is one of the toughest courses at Durham to get in to, they're real grade nazis. They want like 7 A*s at GCSE for history, so yeah.

I don't see why not. Your grades are good and the history prize certainly won't harm your chances.

If you've made a sensible application with a good spread of universities (some that are stretches or gambles, like Durham, and others that are not as competitive) then I don't think you've got any reason not to apply, as long as you understand how competitive the course is.

They don't ask for a specific number. Besides, the OP is Scottish (and wouldn't have done GCSEs).

It's a tough, oversubscribed course. They have to discriminate against candidates somehow and, with no interview....

OP, if you really want to go then apply. There's always a chance you'll get an offer. Just so long as you have a balanced application (no more than two really risky unis).
