Default Confusing pregnancy test result

I took a pregnancy test this morning, as I've missed a couple of periods (I'm not amazingly regular, but it had been a while).
It didn't develop (even the box to tell you it was done developing) after about 4 hours, so took it to mean negative or that the test didn't work, but I've just been clearing out the bin and found it and there's now a very faint line in the window (a line is meant to mean you're pregnant), but because it's so faint I don't know if that means I am.
The last time I had sex was in August, and I had a period a few days after that (my concern is that it was a 'fake' period). We used a condom and we didn't 'finish stuff off', so I didn't really think I could get pregnant from it.
I'm now concerned about maybe precum from before he'd put the condom on or something. Argh

It sounds like the test didnt work properly. Is there any chance you could buy another one?

Typically you shouldn't read a pregnancy test after 10 minutes, because condensation inside the device can lead to faint lines appearing, like you found.

Just do another one, and be sure to pee on it for long enough! Collect some in a cup and dip the stick in it, just to make sure it's properly saturated.

I suppose you could be, but the best thing to do would be get another one (possibly a better brand?) and retest. Hope this helps

a preg test is only valid for a few mins, then you need to discard it, including any later results. The first result you get is the accurate one, it sounds like you may have got pee on the window which caused it to break (you didn't get anyresult? - you did check the instructions?), so I'd advise to get another one and perhaps be more careful or get a container that you don't mind throwing away and pee in it and do the test from that. Re-read instructions!
BTW, from what you said I'd say its unlikely you're preg.

Go see your gp..or simply do a retest, pregnancy tests are really sensitive like that. Also, don't leave a pregnancy test for an hour..like i did, you'll have a seizure lol
