You should try the BMJ now and then because that has some nice information on it now and then.

There's also:

Don't over prepare. Chances are you won't be asked anyway, will sit there trying to remember all your heart facts, and feck up basic questions by not paying attention...

You're apply to be a medical student, not a fully qualified doctor  The plan is that they teach you this stuff

Hi everyone,

I just wondered if any Medics/Medics to-be could advise me on any books about Heart Disease and prevention? I am trying to research into this area for my Interview and wondered if anybody had any good suggestions?

Thanks in advance

To be honest with you, they expect you more to be able to learn rather then to have learned.
When you get here, they crank up the pace quite quickly - and you'll be glad for reading that isn't medicy. Just go through your basic concepts and understand them - as I was once told - quite simply, its not a competition of you vs the lecturer - they know far more then you. Deal with it.

I would suggest that there are far, far, better journals - Heart, BJC and AHJ for a start.
