I don’t know what degree I want to do.
It seems like a very important decision and I don’t know how I got myself into this situation but I don’t know what to do. I have been clinging onto Biochemistry because I don’t know what else to pick, but the thought of it really doesn’t excite me at all. I don't want to take a year off to help me decide, because another year of trying to make this decision would just be hell for me
I want to keep my options open and choose something that is broad, but most natural sciences degrees are very competitive and I would be setting myself up for failure because I only have Chemistry and Biology at A Level.
To complicate matters I took up AS Level maths in order to apply for biochemistry at Oxford, but I don’t think I want to do biochemistry any more, plus I’m doing really badly in the maths. I just want to go back to doing French (which is the A Level I dropped to take up maths).
I know I want to apply to Manchester, probably for Life sciences (or apply for something else then if I get there beg to be let onto the course), and Lancaster (probably) because it’s near home. I also want to apply to Leeds – does anyone know anything about their natural sciences course?
