What do admissions tutors think of the IB?

I know that the IB still isn't very common in the UK and I was wondering if this is a good year for applicants. I believe it's more highly regarded than A-levels nowadays, especially as A-level students are now doing more than 3 A-levels in order to get a leg up.

I'm applying for Modern Languages at Birmingham, Bath, Bristol, Southampton, East Anglia and maybe Exeter.

if you do the ib it's easier to get in if you miss your grades ie if you get a 39 not a 40, when the point drop was in an unrelated subject.

all the unis are way more used to ib applicants nowadays than previously.

uni's are pretty used to IB students now, i would say that it gives you a higher chance to distinguish yourself from other candidates than alevels do, a very high IB score makes people sit up and take notice far more than A grades at A level do as there is a general perception (i think justified) is that is is a more considerable challenge.
