Hi all,

Quick reminder that A26 - Banned User Amendment is still up for voting in the Division Lobby. Also gone to vote is the Local Government (Reform) Bill.

The Rt Hon Metrobeans has submitted an EDM on the Inauguration of Barack Obama. If you agree with the sentiments expressed by the Privy Counsellor then please follow the instructions here.

Within the House there are three bills currently up for discussion. Firstly the Student Study Leave Bill is on a Second Reading. The Socialist Party have submitted a bill on the Public Ownership of Water. Finally the Liberal Democrats have submitted a bill on the Legalisation of Cannabis.

A quick reminder that there is a House of Commons meet in London this weekend, I would encourage as many as possible to come. Sadly I will not be present and so you will not be able to take advantage of the contents of the Barman of the House of Commons Amendment, the passing of which in the Division Lobby it is my duty to inform the house.

Hi Everyone, long time no see!

First of all just to let you all know that I'm going to be returning to the position as Speaker this Saturday (24th January) after attending the HoC meet.

I will however have a slightly reduced than usual time for which I hope you can all bear with me for as I've got to go home for the funeral of my Grandfather who passed away at the weekend and sort various bits out.

During this time, by trusty Barman (who i think has done a sterling job) will be keeping his powers so if I do have any problems he can continue running the house.

its been great to see such high levels of activity in the house recently and I think you should all give yourselves a pat on the back because I know with exams and everything else its hard to find time to write these bills and whatnot but i'm really pleased to see that you've had the division lobby crammed recently. and there is still more stuff coming up for discussion.

Thanks for supporting ukebert in his role as deputy speaker / barman and please ensure he is rewarded adequately.

ALso lots of people are trying to join the MP groups, unless i'm clearly informed of this in advance (7 days in advance) with a minimum of 4 days so i can ensure people are removed from the group with time to spare so there is no overlap of voting. i think i may have allowed people to join the group too early when others may have voted so i may be adjusting polls slightly and announcing different results to what are being displayed, apologies for this, but it was going on whilst i was administering the group along with owen so in the handover things might have got confused.

for this reason I am asking for a Full list of MP's to be sent to me ASAP just so i can check we are all correct. that or could I ask people to ensure the wiki page is updated.

so if you want any proxy voters then I'm going to ask for a weeks notice, with a 4 day overlap where one person will be removed from the group before the other is added.

and as a reminder i will need pm's to confirm any proxy voters from either the person who is being replaced and/or the party leader.

HoC - few days restbite.

Hi Folks,

I'm postponing any new bill discussion for a few days, i feel that whilst its nice having the house so active, the bills are not getting discussed in enough detail because there is so much to take in with everything that is going on and things may start being overlooked.

I'm going to give it 2 or 3 days so that we get some more stuff moving over to the division lobby before i post any new bills up for discussion.

during this time i'll happily take on new bills to post in the hansard so they are ready to go for discussion after these 2 or 3 days have passed to ensure votes are taking place.

I hope you all understand why i do this, but if the general consensus is you want me to continue posting bills then i will do so later on this evening. (if you want me to continue without us having this little restbite please pm me and i'll see how many people want it and make a decision)

other than that please check out the division lobby and the Hoc general forum for everything that is currently under discussion and voting

HI Folks,

Hope you have all had a nice day in the snow... wish it had actually settled here so we had more than 1cm but ah well!

Just a quicky before Normal service will resume tomorrow with stuff (I hope)..

I've sent a few things to a cessation period as i've not had any instruction on what to do with the proposed Bills. so if anyone that's submitted a bill to me recently can let me know what you want doing with it ASAP it would be much appreciated.


We have a new EDM - commending the DWP which has been proposed by Nynyflower if you agree please post in it with the usual. if not then please don't post.

The usual daily updates... first of all going to start off with a little moan (sorry)

all be it our recent high level of bill activity has been good we've come across this issue whereby bills are now entering cessation periods because I've not got responses back from people about whether their bills are to go to a vote or second reading.

I always give 2 days notice (minimum) before it needs action to be taken so you will usually have 2 or 3 days to let me know what you want to happen with the bill. there are now 3 bills in cessation. and I need to know ASAP what to do with them so they can be voted on, scrapped or have further readings issued. could everyone please get back to me about these.

Hi Everyone,

First of all, for those of you that may have noticed I've just agreed to be a minimod in GD, this does not mean in any way I will be taking my eye off the ball in the HoC.

Alasdair has already raised a point that I do now have minimod powers in the HoC, I will not be using these unless the Admin team allow me to do so.
